Tuesday Debate-Money and Children. . . AGAIN?!

Okay, I know I've been on a rant lately. First-Octomom (HHuuuuwweeeehhhhhh- Yes, that's me retching, again. I can't say her name without the reflex of throwing up.) Then last week it was Debbie Rowe, cutting another deal to stay out of her biological children's lives.

But this one just had me cracking up. Kate Gosselein was interviewing this morning with Meredith Viera on the TODAY show. She was talking about how her brother, with whom she was so close, was telling his side of the story and using her children to make money. "And believe me," she said,"It's a business. He's making a lot of money."

Uhhhhh. . . and you, Ms. Gosselein, are doing what?

So the topic of today is:

Do you think the eight Gosselein Children are being exploited and if so, what do you think the punishment should be?

I await your creative responses!

  1. OK, I never would have found this site if it weren't for my new Facebook account and Karen. To add insult to injury, I have no kids (except for a greyhound and a cat)so the fact that I'm posting on this site is way beyond my comfort zone. Soooo, to get to the point, of course Kate is exploiting her kids and they will pay for it. She put the program before her marriage so now they have lost the 2-parent home. When the program ends, her kids will be lost without the "limelight" and I predict a confused and bewildered future. Her punishment? It will come when her kids are teenagers. And by the way, if any of you want my opinion on how to raise your kids, I'll be happy to oblige.

  2. Hello Anonymous! That's what this blog is all about. Feel free to leave your opinions. I'm with you- I think all of the limelight payback might come as teens. While she has put a ton of money away for their college education (her claim), and the series has provided them with opportunities they would not have had otherwise, the loss of a two-parent home is a pretty high price to pay. Although I am not a regular watcher, what I did see makes me wonder if they would have survived it without the cameras. Who knows. . .
