I'm telling you. Angel, the hits keep coming. The V-word came up on a TV show the other night (Celebrity Apprentice, of all things) which led to an entirely new discussion. He says,"So it's like a magic lamp?" I have no idea where he got that from...

That is cute. I had a recent "sex talk" experience with Mr. Nick who is in the full swing of puberty. His comment at the dinner table. "You and Dad should send us to Grandma's house so you can have sex. It's healthy for married couples to have sex." Talk about spitting your food across the table!!

Okay, I have to say that the worst gift-giving my hubs ever did at Christmas was when he gave me 2 things I already had (because he had given them to me before) AND re-gifted me with the gift my kids had offered a couple of years prior. They had given me a picture of a garden workbench and said they would make one for me. It didn't happen. So my husband thought he would give me plans for one with a promise to build it. The better gift would have been not to rescue the kids, but to remind them of their promise and encourage them to get it done. I felt invisible that year and I still don't have a garden workbench. All in all, he is a pretty good guy, though. :)

My worst gift...one that made me cry (and not in a good way) was an ugly skirt from my husband. Honestly, it did come from Dillards and he actually paid way too much for it. The real problem for me was that it was not "me" at all. Not my style, a dull khaki color, slightly too big. We had been together about 8 years at that point (married for 2 of them). It may have been an honest attempt on his part, but too me it screamed "i don't really know you at all."

BWAAAAHHAHAHAHA! I'm really not laughing AT you, because I know that's the quickest way to make it happen to me! I'm laughing at the video playing inside my head... your looks of ABSOLUTE HORROR once you realize what's happened, the multi shots of you bathing him, the shot of you Febreezing him, and then finally, you Febreezing yourself. You can't make this stuff up!
I'm really sorry you have to deal with this. Maybe what your smelling now is the "Phantom Smell"... you remember when your kids were in diapers, and you could SWEAR they just filled it, but you check them and they are as dry as a bone? Yeah, that phantom smell. I hope it goes away, quickly. Obviously, we'll be meeting at MY house for awhile. :)
